Testimonials

After almost a year & a half of not brilliant sleep (short naps, 4/5 night wakings & 4.30/5am wake ups, rocking, bouncing, jiggling to sleep etc) & being totally against 'sleep training', we decided we had to make some changes. Jackson, our son, was exhausted & so were we. I was so nervous but speaking with Louise on the phone before we signed up immediately put me at ease. Louise fully appreciated that we wanted a gentle approach & didn't push us to do or try anything we weren't 100% comfortable with. We couldn't have done it without her support & guidance. From the first night Jackson responded well - there were a few tears (mainly my husbands) & even when I felt the progressions weren't going to work, by following Louise's advice & being consistent, his sleep was transformed within a couple of weeks.

We knew that the gentle approach could take longer (along with being toddler rather than a baby) but this was the best option for us. Jackson now has a 1.5 - 2 hour nap during the day & sleeps for around 11 hours at night. Whilst we still have the occasional wake up at night he can generally put himself back to sleep which is a revelation! We've already recommended Louise to our friends & wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone needing more/better sleep. Sleep has such an impact on the whole family; we are all much happier & more well rested. I found myself making excuses before saying things like "oh he's just not a good sleeper" or "he will grow out of it" but with Louise's help have realised sleep is a learned skill. If you are struggling with sleep, trust me I'm the biggest convert.

This will be your best investment.

I came to Louise as I was struggling with my 4 month's old sleep. She was taking hours to settle at night and would only nap while nursing on my breast.  As this was my second baby, this meant I had little time for my oldest child and I knew I had to do some thing,  I just didn't know how. Given her age, I wanted a gentle approach that minimised distress and allowed me to comfort her in my arms. Louise listened carefully to my issues and after sharing a 3 day diary, developed a schedule and plan. The first 3 days were particularly difficult and both physically and emotionally draining for me and my baby. At several points I questioned whether I could continue and Louise suggested how to soften the approach.

The most valuable thing is having her support and advice. We emailed frequently and louise would get back with advice and suggestions on timing the next nap or adjusting my approach. Progress came in fits and starts, we had horrible days then a breakthrough day. Within a week, settlng had improved and I had a free evening for the first time in months. Naps took longer but i was so relieved when i was able to put her down and tend to my 3 year old. We are working on consistency and still get rough days but we have come a long way. I'm grateful for the support and encouragement Louise gave.

I contacted Louise after 2 solid months of a baby who would only sleep if placed on the boob or taken out for a walk. Night time would be very challenging too as it would take up to 2 hours on boob for her to sleep & then she would wake unhappy in her cot so slept with me all night long feeding. I felt like I could not continue being the best mum I could be & contacted Louise after a personal recommendation.

I was very aware of wanting a very gentle approach & after a tough first day Louise was happy to adapt the technique to ensure I was comfortable with what was required of me. It's definitely not easy & important as a mum to manage expectations. This isn't a quick fix but towards the end of our time together I now have a baby who sleeps in a cot in her own room & requires minimum reassurance to sleep. She has even started to self settle. Wow! Louise gave me the tools to help my daughter sleep independently & I will be forever grateful. Thank you!

We approached Louise with our nearly six month old. Compared to her older sibling, she had been harder to settle in her crib/cot since birth, and had gradually been spending more and more of the night sleeping on top of me. We were struggling to get more than a couple of hours straight sleep. We asked for help and support in getting her to sleep in her cot and to take longer naps in the daytime.

Louise was very responsive to our ideas, concerns and expectations, and only seemed to suggest strategies that I would agree with. As this is our 2nd child, I felt that I had read most of the theories on sleep training, and so I was a bit apprehensive about being prescribed a ‘one size fits all approach’, as well as slightly embarrassed to be needing to ‘ask for help’. But Louise was very gentle in her approach, and if anything initially told me to do things that I thought were ‘against the rules’ of sleep training. And the result was that within a couple of days, our baby seemed to have made friends with her cot and was spending the whole night in there.

Over the consultation period we also gradually got longer spells of sleep at night and longer naps too. The difference between having help from Louise and trying to do it on your own, from a book, is that she adapted her advice each day (and sometimes several times a day with frequent email contact), depending on how things were going, and so gently moved us forwards towards more sleep independence. She put up with my grumpy “it’s NOT WORKING, are you sure this is the best approach?!” emails in the middle of the night and always responded promptly the next day with encouragement and reasoning which really helped me to stick to the big picture and give a consistent message to my baby, which I am sure has helped us.

I would thoroughly recommend her to anyone, particularly if you want to take a gentle approach, or aren’t convinced that any single method of sleep training will work for your family. Thank you very much, Louise, for all of your help and support.

I contacted Louise when my son was nearly 4 months old as he was waking frequently at night - sometimes every hour. He was also following no set pattern of naps in the day and I was worried that he was not conforming to any of the routines I had read about, such as Gina Ford. Louise suggested a flexible routine for napping based on my son's natural rhythm as well as techniques for settling Thomas at night. She was extremely helpful from day one and was in touch with me everyday to request updates and to provide guidance on any issues arising.

I liked Louise's gentle approach - there was no suggestion of leaving my son to cry. At the end of our consultation period I have seen real progress with improved sleep at night helped by a good routine of napping and feeding in the daytime. In addition, Louise provided me with guidance on how to tweak the routine as my son gets older.

I would definitely recommend Louise to anybody having similar issues.

We would like to thank Louise for her help and assistance with helping our daughter settle into a sleep routine. We were concerned like many parents that our daughter was not sleeping as well as she should and was not settling herself. We sometimes ended up spending hours and hours putting her to sleep. Our situation was more complicated by our daughter suffering from Eczema which makes her scratch and itch at night and during sleep.

Louise’s routine and approach was just what we needed, a gentle non-confrontational approach was important to us as we didn’t want to aggravate our daughter’s Eczema. It was good to meet with Louise and for her to meet our daughter as this helped us and gave us reassurance as to the process and support. We feel that good progress was made throughout the consultation and Louise was always available for queries and help on a daily basis. We have made really good progress and managed to achieve a routine that our daughter can work well with and we no longer have to worry about our daughter not going to sleep for hours in the evening and waking up consistently in the night. We are very pleased with the results and would recommend Louise to any parents who are concerned with their child not sleeping or at their wits end because they can’t get their child to sleep at night at all sometimes. We were sceptical at first, but we thought what have we got to lose, we are so glad that we did.

We contacted Louise when my daughter was 12 months; sleep deprivation had reached an unprecedented high and I simply could no longer manage the nights and days on such severe lack of sleep. My daughter was also not coping well in the day, tantruming all over the place and I knew it was because she wasn't getting the sleep she needed

Over time we had fallen into habits that we had used to resettle our daughter when she woke at night. Initially they were a quick fix but later became so hugely relied upon she couldn't settle back to sleep without them.

Louise helped us work on one thing at a time and put in place a manageable plan to help us all get the sleep we needed. A new day time schedule really helped my daughter in her routines, we also moved away from rocking/feeding my daughter to sleep each time she woke and offered comfort whilst in her bed. There was some protest but we remained present and was able to reassure her.

Now, my daughter no longer has milk at night and goes to bed happily in her cot after I turn the lights out and kids her goodnight. She doesn't wake at night and after alot of work and consistency now has really great sleep habits.

We couldn't be happier!

Our 10 month old had never been a particularly good sleeper, but things were at their worst when we reached out to Louise, with our little one fighting sleep and having tantrums in her cot. Louise observed our routine during her consultation and devised a plan that suited our baby and our lifestyle.  Her approach was especially gentle and her methods worked to teach our baby to sleep by providing a schedule that met her sleep needs during the day as well as night.  I didn’t think it was possible but with Louise, you get 24 hours support and that really stood out for me as a mother. She provided guidance throughout and led us to a secure happy baby that sleeps comfortably in her cot through the night.  The knowledge of how to put your child to sleep is invaluable and I would highly recommend Louise to any parent once again, thank you so much for all of your help. It has been an amazing experience and you've taught us so much!

We contacted Louise to help my 2 year old get over some of his anxieties around sleep. We had used a sleep trainer before and went down down the CIO route. To be honest I was never fully comfortable with using that method but we had a lot of pressure from our family to sort his sleep habits and I thought this was the quickest answer. In fairness, it did bring us results but my son became clingy in the day and at sleep time, was fearful. He began climbing out of his cot and hiding in his wardrobe. He also spoke about shadows and monsters. I didn't have the heart to go back to CIO and felt we needed something different. Louise met with us and my son and explained more about the anxieties my son was feeling. We worked alot on connection and trust in the day, we made his sleep space a safe and happy place and played games in there to help him begin to build happy associations in his bedroom. We helped him wind down to bed and used a really comforting, gentle technique when he woke at night. Slowly, our son accepted sleep, he seemed ready and we were able to slowly withdraw our support to settle him. Now he loves sleep! He has a great routine which we stick to and his anxieties have eased tremendously.

We are really happy with his sleep habits now and with a newborn in the house, I wouldn't hesitate to contact Louise again.

We contacted Louise on a personal recommendation. A friend of ours had great success with her 8 month old and I was in a similar predicament myself - spending ages settling my 11 month old for naps and dealing with multiple night wake ups. Mostly I was feeding to sleep and knew this was the reason he continued to wake. My husband and I really wanted to achieve SLEEP and with me returning to work, I wanted to crack it before then. Louise met with us and we worked together to put a plan in place. The changes we set out to make weren't extreme, but gradual and though there was some protest from my son (which I expected), he accepted them and without using methods where I had to leave him to cry. Louise has a calm and gentle approach and didn't dictate. I contacted her at all hours and she was so quick in responding to even my smallest of questions which I really needed. Success wise, within 2 weeks, my son had slept through the night 3 nights running! He'd never done that before!

We've continued to use the technique Louise gave us and I can't thank her enough for giving me the skills and confidence I needed to sort out the sleep issue we were having.

Before I contacted Louise I felt exhausted and at my wits end with my baby's sleep habits. He was 10 months old and up 5-7 times a night and his day naps averaged at 30 minutes. I didn't know how to tackle the problems we had on our hands.

Louise has a very gentle manner and she made me feel able to open up to her and discuss the issues around my baby's sleep. A strict plan was set in place for my baby and with Louise's reassurance and at the end of the email I received, I was able to put this plan in place. After 3 nights there was a significant improvement and by the end of 2 weeks I was only doing 1 night breast feed and at the end of 4 weeks I wasn't feeding at night time. The naps were usually around 1 hour. Louise gave me the confidence to be consistent to see the results which I'm happy to say we are still reaping the reward of - a full 11-12 hours sleep at night!

I would definitely recommend Louise to help you get your baby on a better sleeping schedule which suits you. It's been worth it!
